Century of wheels




Nigeria however, has a typical tendency of following up with the latest technolo­gy on sales all around the world and will also follow up any given up on trend of automobile on sale. This has resulted in Nigeria spending over 500 billion Naira annually in purchasing cars as shown in the Nation­al bureau of Statistics Journal for 2012; The re-en­actment of the automotive developmental plan is however indispensable because a reduction of the outrageous amount spent on imported automo­bile purchases, could be diverted to funding other deteriorating sectors of the economy. For the next century to be well spent, the government has gone ahead to create a policy that will reduce the cost on importation and unsafe factors that might affect the end users of automobile. In conclusion, the plausibility of this policy and implementation lies on the end users; as their reliance on cars as­sembled in Nigeria rather than imported cars will in due course make importation of cars extinct and in the long run improve the economy of the nation.........................
